Your wording is a bit confusing but I think what your asking is this: ''If my friend and I are sitting next to each other in a car, and we both have PSPs, can we play multiplayer games together?'' If that's the question than the answer is yes. Or at least mostly. Most multiplayer PSP games (e.g. Medal of Honor, Syphon Filter) have that function. It's called ''ad hoc.'' So, again, yes. If you guys have ad hoc capable games, then you can do that.muliplayer help??

Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, for example, has full-on online play. But if it doesn't support native online, you can still play online via the PS3's ''Ad Hoc Party'' - but then you need to be next to a PS3, which is what you're trying to avoid.
so are ad hoc and ad hoc party the same thing or whats the diffrence?

Ad Hoc, or local, multiplayer modes on PSP are basically multiplayer modes that can only be played with people right next to you.

Ad Hoc Party is a PS3 application that acts as a ''tunneling'' service for PSP games. It lets you play ad hoc multiplayer modes over the internet, by pretending that you're right next to the people you want to play with.

For what you're asking in your very first post, you won't need ad hoc party because, like you said, you'll be right next to each other. But if you were far away, if you both had PS3's you could use ad hoc party to play together.

Bear in mind that ad hoc party isn't necessary if the PSP game in question supports online play on its own. The game should say on the box, or else have an ''online'' option under multiplayer, or something like that.
yeah thats what i was trying to figure out. Thanks!
