psp 3000 being discontinued

guys, I I interested in purchasing a psp 3000 (the go doesn't interest me all that much) anyways, when I checked bestbuy.com , I noticed sony's traveler case wasn't available, then I checked for the Gran tourismo bundle pack (hoped I spelled that correctly) and it too wasn't available, the same as well for the silver psp 3000, the only one that was available was the black psp 3000, anybody know what's up with this?psp 3000 being discontinued
It is spelled gran turismo.

And no, just no.psp 3000 being discontinued
was the silver psp 3000 ever available solely as a console and not as a bundle pack? what happened to the gran torismo bundle pack? what happened to the accessories designed and built by sony?
I think sony is pushing the go. I never saw any color available in the US instead of black (with the exception of special edition bundles) in the PSP 1000, 2000, or 3000. I have a feeling that the PSP 3000s will become harder and harder to find as Sony tries to push the PSPGo and digital distribution. I did see an Assassin's Creed bundle that had either a white or silver PSP 3000 in it. You may have to order online if you want a particular model/bundle/color.
Here in the UK the 3000 is readily available in various colours - mine is vibrant blue :D:D
well of course sony will discontinue one of the two handhelds eventually. but i think they will wait to see how many pspgos actually sell before they cut the psp3000. From what I've read the Go isnt selling very well, so to increase sales they will do a price cut. If that works, THEN they'll discontinue the psp3000. It's kinda dumb to sell two consoles that look different, but play the same games.
um no , the 300 is not being discontinue that bundle was limited time only , as i saw black psp 3000s as well as hanamontana one just last night , at walmart, why would sony discontinue their better selling unit ! if they did guess what , psp sales would halt , ,

when did the go get umd?
Hmmmm... No official press release from Sony. No other information to substantiate the topic line. Sounds like speculation on the Internet, to me. Sony's last official statement being that they would continue to support the 3000 and the Go. Seeing as the system has just recently broken into various world markets - a lot of which don't have widely available high speed internet service, etc. - the concept is shaky at best that Sony would convert entirely to the new system. That would basically guarantee the sales to flop in those blossoming markets.Apple has proven the market for downloadable content and iTunes and Steam have streamlined the process, but Sony has a looooong way to go before they can train the gaming public over to an entirely new standard for their handheld gaming system. The Go is an experiment, a testing of the waters. It's not a disaster like the VirtualBoy was for Nintendo, but the real success of this platform hasn't gotten off the drawing board yet in terms of market acceptance combined with widespread convenience of high speed connection.
Trying to encourage the sale of the Go.
The 3000 is not being discontinued. Your Best Buy's selection is just lacking. It is still in full production side by side with the GO.
That's a deceiving title...and just like everyone else, it is not being discontinued.
...just like everyone else, it is not being discontinued.
That's a definite lol moment. :lol:Err....anyway, yeah. The 3000 is still being sold side-by-side with the Go, it's just that the GT bundle was limited edition, and it's run out where you are/online. No discontinuation going on here.
went to my local bestbuy today, they have in fact discontinued the psp 3000 gran turismo bundel pack, they have also removed all the ps2 consoles from the shelves, something seems very fishy here
try walmart! psp 3000 > psp GO
Here in the States, piano black is the standard color with silver being hard but findable. Any other color is in a bundle.

It's honestly about time. Besides, once they shut sown production of PS2s, then they can begin porting th console's titles to PSN for play on a PS3. But the PSP 3000 is not being discontinued, for reasons I have already stated. And yeah... all bundle packs disappear pretty quickly, it's the collector mentality to snap them up.
