Is PSP dated?

What is wrong with PSP? It has lost his potential so badly! There are only 8 games with Gamespot Editor's Choice label. There haven't been any great games on PSP recently. Last year only Tekken 6, Resistance: Retribution, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Dissidia: Final Fantasy and GTA: Chinatown Wars were very interesting to me. Great games such Assassin's Creed, Soul Calibur, Gran Turismo, Army of Two are very badly ported on PSP!Now iPhone is making a great deal with games. For such a small phone, the games are so good that some of them exceed PSP's potential. What on earth is Sony Computer Entertainment doing? I want to see a new Killzone on PSP, I want Uncharted on PSP, a new God of War game too! I really want a great fresh game on PSP!Is PSP dated?
There are some cool games that are coming though. Mgs pw, Valkyria chronicles 2, Persona 3 portablem, Lunar silver star harmony, Kingdom hearts birth by sleep... So far so good though imo.Is PSP dated?
You should truly examine the PSP's library/upcoming release list.As well as learn the definition of ''port''..
It looks like the system is on the rise, imo. Not until recently have I wanted to buy one, and that's because of it having an established library. My only gripes with it are the bad battery life, and the impending failure of the umd drive--I like physical copies, but a disc based portable always seemed like a bad idea to me. The GO is just far too expensive. However, it looks like it has the best rpg lineup of any console out there right now, home and portable included.

Different systems for different folks. I owned a DS at one point. It appealed to me at the time--it still does to an extent, but I don't want to put money into a new one just for Spirit Tracks. So, over the past few weeks i've been researching the psp, and the games just look more involved. I can play it on the road like a portable, or use it as a bedside console of sorts...OR if I feel like playing a console quality game when the apt is filled with people and don't feel like dedicating the tube for games. There's no online multiplayer? That sucks, because with BB offering it for 150 bucks, I was going to pick one up today.
i can't play it on the road because it makes me go dizzy and puke after a while. Like you said it is a bedside console. I always play 1 or 2 hours before sleeping because I am insomniac!

The only thing that can makes playing games quite difficult is the the absence of thr right-analog stick (especially when playing Monster Hunter or Syphon Filter). I also wish that PSP had much more stronger CPU. 333MHz is the same speed as PS2 CPU speed. I always need to install the data to play the games faster.
I don't mean to be rude, but seriously, how long have you had a PSP? I and many others bought it on it's release date and have had to suffer a year if not 2 years of bad ports, no exclusives or no games whatsoever for the PSP. I was stuck playing Monster Hunter Freedom for nearly a year due to the pathetic amount of games being released. I think it's brilliant that there are exclusive and multi-platform games being released on the PSP. It's been great to find Tekken 6, LittleBigPlanet, Dissidia, Star Ocean and many more games on the PSP. Plus, games such as Final Fantasy XIII Agito are also on their way too. Seriously, don't complain about the amount of games coming out when at one point there was nothing. I was almost at the point of selling my PSP... now I have 2, I'm very happy with Sony at the moment... but that's just me.
I remember the first games on PSP so I didn't not buy it on the first release. I bought my PSP in the final quarter of year 2006. Like you said the first games were really bad ports like Grand Theft Auto games. I always wanted to get PSP on the first release because I am a PS fan. After I saw that some great games were coming I bought PSP. In the year 2007 and 2008 were not that so great to me and like you said I nearly gave up my PSP to someone else. Once I saw the 2009 games list for PSP, I bought another PSP so that I can play ad-hoc with my bro. I am really waiting for MGS: Peacewalker.
The PSP has always had a lack of excellent games, and I think that is partly due to it's being a slightly lesser performing, portable version of the PS2, and is not a terribly innovative device. That said, it's very hard to produce an immersive and exciting experience on a portable device.

I totally understand I got a PSP back in 2007 and well for the past few years there hasn't been anything new and I was left to track down 3/4 year old games to play on it. The UK psn store was terribly bad with PS classics such as Bug Life and any other Disney games they could churn out. But despite wanting to throw the PSP away I got a GO at Christmas to add to my 3000 and been happy with the new UMD and PSN games avaliable and the others on the horrizion.
The PSP has 80 games that scored 8 or more, thats impressivebtw trust me iphone gaming is not that good

But support for North American designed games is lacking.
Technologically speaking, all systems except the PC are dated.
every console is dated. nothing lasts forever.

You are right because PC is an open source machine. Every year, the games quality capacity expands so when there is a new game with better graphics, you can upgrade your PC at any time unlike those consoles. I have read some articles saying that some games (Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age) have better graphics on PC which showing vital signs for consoles of being dated! I heard that the next PS will be in year 2012 or 2013. PS3 was released after 6 years of PS2 release date. And PS2 was released after 6 years of PS1 release. Which means that Sony changes PS every 6 years.

It lacked excellent games but not due to lesser performance. Look at Nintendo DS. I have looked at video game sales charts and the no.1 selling game was Nintendogs by selling 20 million! For PSP it was GTA Liberty City Stories by selling 6 million! What a huge difference!
