I assume there are no hackers anymore?

Seeing as CFW doesn't work with PSN for most games, are the games still full with hackers? I haven't played my PSP for a year.I assume there are no hackers anymore?
Medal of Honour Heroes is the biggest culprit. At least one in every game.I assume there are no hackers anymore?
will fireteam bravo 3?
I guess you haven't heard about a new save game exploit that someone is working on that will work with 6.20 firmware and the PSP Go. So sadly the hackers are still going.

Hopefully Sony spotted the link posted on N4G like I did and is working on sorting it out. I hate all these hackers as they're the main reason why the PSP doesn't get the support it should.
It remains to be seen with FTB3. Slant 6 has been pretty hush hush about their ''new surprises for hackers'' concerning the upcoming release. From what I've read it involves catching them(somehow), banning them, and making them pay for a new account if they want it, but other than that who knows? At least these nerds can't just get banned, then pump out another PSN login in 5 minutes like they used to. Suppose thats a plus..

Do they just suck at these games?

There will sadly always be a section of people who simply get off on spoiling a good time.

We could sit here and pontificate on whether or not they got picked on in school, or what other sort of mistreatment brought the BS out of them, but ultimately it boils down to a loser who enjoys others being as miserable as they are - Or at least them TRYING to bring others down, because misery does love company.

As for FTB3, count on hacking. It's one of the world's most-played shooters and at least in NA, you can count on a whole mess of gun-nut play-all-day gotta-have-top-honors-on-every-leaderboard clan-forming mic-jabbering foul-mouthed brain-dead gimps with no lives cheating their thumbs off no matter what Slant 6 tries. It's a royal shame because the game plays great (offline) and the demo shows fantastic graphics and gameplay, and as I've said before the online options and interface shown on the Spot podcast/ video show looked amazing...

... but rest-assured that there will be people hacking that game as of Day 1.

While I dislike cheating in online games and piracy as much as anyone, you should not be so quick to frown upon cfw. It brings about amazing opportunities for innovation and customisation (i.e. applications, peripherals), the likes of which are not possible under the limits Sony place with the ofw. Obviously this is not confined to the PSP. Electronics - or technology in general, is an open, creative medium that should not be defined by a corporation wishing to make money out of it's online service, and in saying this, I do not advocate copyright infringement or online cheating.

Dude, the poor guys who wrote the first bit torrent routines probably had no idea that their technology in amoral hands would bring about the desolation of the known music industry or steal millions of dollars from hard working writers, directors, gaffers, drivers, food service people, security, production assistants, cover designers, packagers, shippers, retailers, and on and on and on in the film industry world-wide...

... different types of firmware innovations indeed probably ARE brilliant and they probably DO advance the system into untold fields of splendor... but we both know that's not what the majority of users have it for, nor do they limit themselves or avoid the temptations of other aspects of said modifications. I'll make you a deal: Don't defend it, and I won't attack it, and the world can just go on, but please don't expect any of us on this forum to buy that it's a good thing or that it hasn't fairly crippled the system we gamers love in the eyes of programmers, devs, and retailers. Piracy and cheating have killed the machine every time it gets a modicum of momentum. and you know it.

Well said.

It's all well and good praising these hackers for advancing the system, but they haven't actually added any features to the PSP that you can't already do on your computer. Why do they need to risk bricking their console that I presume they paid for just to put a few emulators on it. What people fail to tell you is that all these hacks and custom firmware allow you to easily cheat in games oth online and off. Thus spoiling it for every one else. But they don't care about that. They think they're above everyone else just because they can play a few crappy apps and run some homebrew. The PSP in it's standard, un-modified form as it's bought, lets you play games, watch films, listen to music, surf the web, listen to the radio, read comics, subscribe to rss feeds, use it as a sat nav, take photos with it if you have the camera, view photos, use it as a telephone and more! The only reason to hack the PSP is therefore to download games for free which is piracy and just pathetic. If you don't want to pay for your games and support your hobby then you don't deserve to go anywhere near a console.

Rant over.
The more people play games for free (illegaly) the crappier they can get and the fewer that we will have. It is a fact: if you have CFW, your main purpose was to play pirated games. I know I know, apps are cool but that is not the reason you did it.

Agreed - that is the reality of the situation. I was stating what it should bring about, but only to a limited extent.
