Some questions about the GO

I am thinking about selling my 3000 and buying a GO but there are a few things i need cleared up.
  • Is the colour on the GO's screen like the 3000 or the older models?
  • Do you still get one free game when you register it?
  • Can you switch between PSN accounts?
Some questions about the GO

  • Is the colour on the GO's screen like the 3000 or the older models? Its Better than the 3000
  • Do you still get one free game when you register it? I don't think so
  • Can you switch between PSN accounts? Yes, i would think it would be like the PS3 firmware where you could switch beween multiple PSN accounts
[/QUOTE]Although it is better to have the GO if you don't have a huge UMD collection, i would wait for the price drop which is expected around E3Some questions about the GO
the ''price drop'' has already happend if you look at the right store. My Go came with rockband unplugged, it is not much of a game, but I also think all psp packaged games suck. Then again that brings me to the subject of my opinion of the quality of the majority of psp games, with 1 exception that I think is not debateable(MGS:PO).
Basically Sony's trying to rip people off by forcing Go owners to pay full price for a digital copy of a game you'd normally get on umd, with the booklet, and the case.So Sony doesn't pay for as much manufactoring costs. But buy one if you want, to support Sony, so they don't get real brokes

Sony's not trying to rip anyone off. If you want to talk about who's been gettin' the screws put to 'em, take a look at piracy statistics. I'm not a fan of the Go, and I agree that you can often find a game for at least $5-$10 cheaper in resale on UMD compared to most pricing on the PSN, but saying it's Sony's attempt to gouge it's buying constituency is absurd. The hope behind the new design being DL-only was to yes, reduce cost of manufacturing, but honestly they also did it because iTunes has proven the business model is sound with a public who is technologically competent and available to the delivery method; That, and an attempt to stem the horrid damage piracy has done to the platform amongst developers and retailers. This is the wave of the future whether you like it or not. The next thing they are talking about is how to make the handhelds of the future online at all times, both so that you can access content and services, but also so that they can Big Brother your memory onboard and see if you are being a good gamer or not (as they have done in the case of Xbox360 owners who modded their consoles, only to be banned from XBL on the launch day of ''Modern Warefare 2'' because Microsoft was able to ping the devices and determine who had been tinkering with their guts... which made me laugh and laugh - Good for you, XBL!!!)

I will continue to buy UMD because I had far too many games to shift and Sony sisn't give me the option to transfer my library (which is a daunting task to work out, so I understand why they nixxed it). If I were a first-time PSP'er, I might consider it over a 3000 because it has a lot of attractive features and design... but I've been ''in the game'' too long so it's not a viable piece of hardware as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a fan of the go, but not because of a paranoid notion about Sony's economic strategies...
1- : The screen looks better than the 3000's

2-: No, depending on what contry you are from i think.

3-: Yes, yes, yes and yes

Obviously Sony has been screwed over by the consumer but the reason that there are so many people illegally downloading games is because the games are so severely overpriced. Honestly they're handheld games. They're not all amazing, most are just mere time-passers.
I suppose the only logical thing to do then, is to vote with your dollar. Sell off your Sony stuff, and don't support them in any way for the future. But truly - You're not insinuating that pirates and hackers are some sort of Robin Hood characters out in the Sherwood Forest of the Internets, stealing from King Gates and the Sony of Knottingham?

Stealing is a crime, man. Straight up. No amount of swing is going to make piracy seem justified, ever. You're not stealing from the corporation, you're doing a workin' stiff in the back and erroding his chances at staying afloat and in business. The corporation will never feel it, they'll just pass the savings on to the little guy who wrote that code or designed that level, and close their office doors. It's happened to tens of thousands of industry employees, people who made award-winning titles last year, were sacked and sent packing. The industry is tanking out, perhaps partly because it needed to, like in the early 1980s when the industry crashed the last time... Darwinism at work... but part of it also is because the community which thrives on these products for it's pleasure has been robbing it blind out the back door by pirating games and using firmware alterations FOR YEARS, ensuring that Sony never made a profit for the amount of time, R%26D, and all of the other licensing and BS that goes with trying to sell a product on a super-international scale... While I agree that certain prices might be a bit inflated, there are a LOT of good bargains if you take the time to look as well as open your mind to gaming experiences you might not have tried in the past. Both of the ''Tomb Raider'' PSP titles are cheaper than resale, ''Sega Genesis Collection'', ''Crazy Taxi''... and a bunch more. The thrifty and informed gamer can find a wealth of stuff for the price of a $20 PSN card when properly motivated.

Right, Cali?

Plus there are a mess of great PSOne games that have been properly ported over, and are not priced out of the park. You can go that route...

... or just do what I suggested, and stop buying Sony products.

That's the only way you're going to influence a bunch of bottom-line watching execs in ANY biz. But stealing doesn't make you even, it just makes you a criminal.
When I upgraded my PSP 3000 to a GO I recieved a few freebies. The first one was out of 3 games and it was for purchasing it before the end of Jan 2010 and the other was a gift because I upgraded. Now I am in the UK and I think different countries had different gifts.

The screen despite being much smaller in comparison to the PSP 3000 etc I think it visually looks nicer.
