Hey guys, i own the original psp 1000 ( got it first day it came out.. yeah i m that hardcore 8) ) but havent played it in awhile, ( last game i bought was mgs portable ops)but since the new mgs is coming out and there are other games i wanted to play , i thought of upgrading.... what do you guys think? is it worth it? i might trade it on gamestop and add some extra $Should i get a pspgo?
First, what were your thoughts for upgrading. What was inticing you?Personaly, and logically, I would suggest upgrading to the PSP-3000 and not the Go if you were to upgrade at all.The PSP-3000 is not missing any major functions of the Go. The go may look sweet, but may be a little more cramped. But the 3000 can do it all and doesn't loose out the UMD slot.Should i get a pspgo?
Depends how much you care about portability, if you really want it to be smaller and don't want to have to lug all your UMDs around then go for it.
Unless you've got nothing else better to do with 250+ bucks, I wouldn't do it. Maybe stop and think what else you can do with that money...I too have a PSP-1000 (that is starting to look really ragged for it's age) and I thought pretty hard about the PSPgo, but I'm aiming for the PSP-3000, unless a severe price cut happens to the PSPgo.
pspgo is too controversial, I guess sometimes it feels great to have it, but there are many things I frankly hate about it's overexpensive-downloading-only-based concept. If you are uncertain you gonna love pspgo, - either try borrow-playing it if your friends have it or maybe go for a 3k one instead, after all it's just a redesign and so the way it should be thought of, I think.
Ah this again...well, it really depends on what you want to play. I went with the 3000 because Sid Meier's Pirates is not on the PSN...there are several other games not on the PSN either. However, if you like the feel of it, and think the way it folds out looks cool, then by all means, go with the PSP Go. I have BIG hands, so the small control scheme did not look particularly comfortable to play. Also the higher price tag puts me off as well.
But seriously people, stop taking this so to heart...eventually, something new will come out, and the PSP, DSi, etc will be obsolete too (hey, I had a Lynx and a Game Gear...anybody remember the tubografix handheld?)
But back to the subject, if you choose to get a go, then get one and enjoy!
Don't get it. I bought the white go (did get my 1000 first day as well). If your last game was MGSPO then get Gran Turismo, Resistance Retribution and Motorstorm Arctic Edge (you will not regret it). I am returning my Go for a refund. Screen is better but price stinks. Should wait for a year until they release the 32GB for 250 and then 16 GB for 150 (or whatever they care to decrease the price). The first one is the best onefor all I care... not that thrilled in getting the 3000 for the lighter, 480i out put, skype capable system
Well let me tell you a story. I got a PSPgo just a few days ago and when I took it out of the box I I stared at it with glee and excitement, ready to play some awesome games. That's when I realized I needed to BUY games to play some awesome games. So I put it down and picked up my IntelliGenesis-16.

I guess if you don't care about paying full price for a game that one could find on UMD for half that price then get it...
No. It is a rip-off. A complete rip-off. You're basically paying more money so that sony can have a monopoly over the prices of the games you buy.

I was wondering, can you return a pspgo even if you open it? Do the store accept it and give you a refund?
Nobody should buy a PSP Go. Ever.
Nobody should buy a PSP Go. Ever.
why psp go is perfect for me i had 1000 and 2000 too big for my jeans go is perfect looks nice too, plus i like downloading games don't like carrying 10+ umd'spsp 1000 2000 3000 for people who have lots of umd's or kids who can't use psnpsp go for peeps who have fast net speeds and don't have loads of umd's and want a smaller handheld
The Go is overpriced and the games on PSN are a ripoff - if you have money to burn, get a Go. You'll be paying $40 for a game that released 2 years ago you can get anywhere else on UMD for $10.
Even with a price drop to $150, the PSN store would have to make prices more attractive to get people to really buy in.
if i buy a game i trade with m8s so i get free game if i give them one so what you said is pointless tbh in the uk umd's cost just ? less then psn games so not big deal tbhas for psp go price in uk a 3000 cost ?39.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-3000-Handheld-Console-White/dp/B001RTS4R4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8%26s=videogames%26qid=1266927988%26sr=8-3psp go cost ?49.99 ?0 more http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PSP-Go-Console-Black/dp/B002BSH1ZG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8%26s=videogames%26qid=1266927988%26sr=8-1plus we get 3 games for free when upgrading from any psp
