video problems please help

I'm sure others have posted about this, but I can't find an answer that works. I'm trying to put videos on the PSP 3000, I have firmware 5.55. I used PSP Video 9 and I finally managed to put a working video on there, I played it and everything. But, when I turned off the psp and turned it back on the file said corrupted, I then deleted it and used PSP Video 9 to transfer it back onto the PSP and it won't play. Is there anyone who can help me? I've googled just about everything and I'm getting really disappointed by how difficult it is to just watch a video on this thing.video problems please help

I think it's time for a new movie converter to be found. Anyone know of any that work well? I have been wondering.video problems please help
I use 3GP Converter, and set the file type to MP4, for PSP - QVGA/29.97fps/1500kbps Stereo/128kbps. I had to fiddle with it for a while before I could get it to work. By no means are those settings the exact correct ones, but this works for me, so it should work for you.
I use Pinnacle Mobile Media Converter. I convert my videos to iPod (H.264) High Quality mp4 which gives me more viewing options than a straight PSP mp4. They play fine in my PSP 1000 with no corruption problems.
Oh. I forgot to mention you can also use Handbrake. It's free and has very high quality transcoding. It's kind of slow though.
thanks, I'll try one of them. Did you guys put these videos in other folders? I have created a folder 1001anv or something like that (can't remeber the exact name) which was within an MP_ROOT folder which is inside my Video folder? When I did this, one of the dvds I converted with the use of PSP Video 9 worked, but when I did the same thing with another it gives me corrupted data. Its still a .mp4 file and it will play on windows media just fine.
I always just put it into the Video folder.
thats interesting, when I try that it just gives me corrupted data.

yeah, I tried that a few days ago and it took forever and still gave me a corrupted data. Why is this so hard? Would it have killed Sony to make the PSP play videos without having to jump through a thousand hoops?
Can you check if your memory card is legit. See if it says Magic gate = supported. Maybe it's that.

Also I put mine in the video folder too and it works fine. No need to put it in that certain folder (forgot the name).
Try using mp4 for iPods when converting the video. Me..... I just drag and drop files from the pc to the Video folder in the PSP memory stick. No subfolder inside the Video folder.
I'll try the ipod thing, thanks for the sugestion. I do have 1 video that works, but nothing else does, it must be the converter or something. My memory card is a sony memory stick pro duo mark 2 and it does say magic gate on it so I know its not that, i never get third party memory sticks, i guess I'll just keep trying. Maybe its my firmware? I tried the 3GP converter, but no matter what video Itried to drag and drop into it, it wouldn't take.
Can you try these other video converter please, see if it works (I am looking for a good one too):http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/(Any video converter)http://www.winavi.com/en/download/download.htm(WinAVI 3GP/MP4/PSP/iPod Video Converter)So far I narrowed it down to these, Since the 3gp converter don't work for you.
I finally got them to workusing psp video 9. And I only needed to put them directly in the video folder. I scanned my psp using the PC and fixed any file errors, then I re uploaded all the videos that I had converted using psp video 9 onto the psp and they all work. I may check out other converters anyway because psp video 9 is kinda slow. Thank you guys for all your help and suggestions :)
The reason I stick with iPod mp4 instead of the PSP mp4 is first, the iPod files seem smaller in size. Actually, they have a lower res than the PSP files. But, I can't tell the difference especially with iPod H.264 mp4 format.Plus, I get the following screen formats:OriginalNormalZoomFull ScreenUsing the PSP mp4 format, I might get Original and Normal.
The folder that your movies go into is firmware dependent....and I mean the firmware that the video is targetted at, not the actual firmware on the PSP. PSP V9 has profiles that determine where the movies go. If you use the latest profile then put all those movies in /VIDEO. If your encoder targets an older firmware (say 1.5) then that movie will have to go in those weirdly named folders in /MP_ROOT.
